I led the campaign to get an annual rebate on all water bills in Cornwall and helped devise the policy that has seen every home in Cornwall recieve a £50 rebate. I have also campaigned to increase funding for health and education as well as the introduction of the new pupil premium in schools. I want to build on these successes and will fight for further reductions in water bills and additional changes to the funding formulae for the Cornish NHS that takes into account our older population.
I also recently welcomed news that extra money has been granted for a much needed expansion at the minor injuries unit at the Camborne and Redruth Community Hospital and the creation of doctor-led urgent care centes at the same hospital. Just because we are a long way from London does not mean we should be treated differently when it comes to funding.
