George Eustice MP recently caught up with Chris Jackman, pictured, the head teacher at Hayle Community School.
The school is currently in the pre-application stages for a new Sports Hub facility that will be shared between the school and the local community. Plans have been drawn up and a public meeting scheduled to discuss these on Tuesday, 15th July.
George has been involved with the project from the start and following up from his recent letters of support to Sport England he has arranged a meeting with Cornwall Council planning officers to discuss aspects of the scheme.
George said: ‘Hayle Community School is one of only two schools in the county without a Sports Hall Facility, and I want to make sure this is changed. I have written in support of Hayle’s bid to Sport England and I will continue to support them to find the best possible funding routes available. The Sports Hall would be a brilliant facility for both Hayle students and the Hayle community.’
