George Eustice MP fights for Cornish NHS staff.
Following the recent announcement of a price hike in staff car parking charges at Treliske Hospital, George has written to the Chief Executive of the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust outlining staff concern and arguing that the planned changes be looked at again.
The charges effect different staff dependent on their role at the hospital, but they can represent a 300% rise or a fivefold increase and they are due to take effect next month. Staff have been advised to use the nearby Park and Ride Service however the operating times for the service often do not fit in with NHS working hours.
George said ‘I have a huge amount of sympathy with our local NHS staff and I can appreciate that this is unwelcome news given how hard they work. Whilst I can appreciate the financial pressure the Trust is under, I hope we can find a solution that works for all and above all keeps the level of patient care at an exemplary level.’
