George attends Trevithick Day celebrations

On Saturday, George Eustice MP attended the annual Trevithick Day celebrations in Camborne. The days commemorates the achievements of Richard Trevithick, which epitomise the contribution made by Cornwall to the Industrial Revolution.

Pupils from Portreath School recently wrote letters to George to tell him about their school work on the issue of plastic. Last week, they were invited to Parliament to take part in an All Party Parliamentary Group meeting with Surfers Against Sewage.

An extra £2.5M to repair potholes in Cornwall

Today, George Eustice MP has welcomed £2.5 million of additional investment to repair potholes in Cornwall. This will fix an estimated 50,000 potholes, following the recent winter storms that caused considerable damage on our roads.

George Eustice welcomes u-turn on CAB funding

George Eustice has welcomed Cornwall Council’s statement today, in which it has announced a u-turn on proposed cuts to funding for Cornwall’s Citizens Advice Service.

Previous plans by the Liberal Democrat/Independent-led council would have seen cuts of £200,000.

Radiotherapy Services in Cornwall

In recent weeks, George has been contacted by many constituents about NHS England’s consultation on a new model for radiotherapy services in England. He is concerned about reports of people potentially having to travel outside of Cornwall for treatment.

George Eustice welcomes boost to police funding in Cornwall

The Home Office has announced a £450 million increase in police funding across England and Wales. This includes up to an additional £270 million in police force budgets, so individual forces have the resources they need to respond to changes in demand.
