Message from the Chair - Summer 2016

Last May voters went to the polls to elect who they want to represent this Constituency at Westminster. George Eustice was returned as our M.P for the second term with a majority of over 7,000.  Conservative Policy Britain grew faster than any other major economy in 2014. We have brought growth and stability to the country once again and want to finish what we began.

We are the only Party, now we have an overall majority at this General Election and have promised the people of this country a referendum on Europe. A promise that is binding and will be kept. It will be based on the mandate of bringing more power back to Britain and away from Brussels.

In this country we have cut the deficit by half following the worst recession this country has ever experienced. Caused by the decisions made by the last Labour government. Who were ministers at that time in the Treasury? Ed Miliband and Ed Balls, now even they have gone.

We have helped businesses create more than 1.9 million new jobs. We have given an average income tax cut of £700 to 25 million people, taking 2.7 million people out of tax altogether. We have capped welfare. We have taken all the action we can under current EU agreements to fix our immigration system and limited migrants access to benefits.

The Conservative Party is committed to not only giving people their choice in 2017, but a government who you can trust based on what they have already achieved, standing up for British people and businesses.

As George Eustice says,  'there is a lot more to do' both locally and nationally, but with a strong and safe government we can move forward in to a greater future for our area and our families.
