George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth, recently visited Camborne Police Station with his colleague, Mike Penning, Minister of State for Policing at the Home Office, where they met with senior officers and sat in on an afternoon briefing, before going out on patrol with PC Jo Shields.
During the visit, Mike Penning also took the opportunity to update them on plans to make available new equipment such as body cameras and PDA's to assist in the great work they are doing locally.
George Eustice said of the visit “I regularly visit our police force in Camborne and Redruth and I am always really impressed by their professionalism. We have seen big improvements in efficiency in the last few years and the government has scrapped pointless paperwork. As a result, crime in Cornwall has tumbled since 2010. And the focus on neighbourhood policing and working with communities has been particularly successful."
