George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle, has joined the Prime Minister in welcoming today’s announcement by the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills promising a new package of investment for the area.
The Redruth Strategic Employment Growth package provides investment for eight prioritised walking and cycling schemes, which will help connect employment and residential sites. Additional investment in the Tolgus and Barncoose junction will also create a gateway between Redruth and Camborne that will unlock access for over 600 new homes and 5000 sqm of commercial space.
David Cameron said “Giving local communities the power and the money to unlock growth and development and make the spending decisions that work for them is a key part of our long-term economic plan to secure a brighter future for Britain and ensure a recovery for all.
“Projects such as the Redruth Strategic Employment Growth package, which local MP George Eustice has campaigned for, will make an important difference to the area. That’s what growth deals are all about, backing local people and investing in the infrastructure, housing and skills that will create more jobs and opportunities for hardworking people and supercharge all parts of our country.”
George joined the Prime Minister saying “This new growth deal is great news for Redruth. It will be a major boost to the local economy and will add momentum to projects like the Cornwall Archive which is now under construction.”
