The problems at Treliske were laid bare recently in a concerning report by the Care Quality Commission that highlighted a long list of failures. The hospital has been rated as "inadequate" with surgery, maternity and gynaecology, end of life and outpatient services also rated as inadequate.

George Eustice has welcomed figures released by the ONS showing that more people are in work than ever before. Unemployment is at its lowest level since 1975. Over 3 million more people are now in work since 2010.
This week, George has welcomed representatives from the town of Real del Monte, Mexico, to Westminster. Real del Monte is twinned with Redruth. The group enjoyed a tour of Parliament before they travelled to Cornwall in time for the annual Redruth pasty festival.
George recently met Cornwall Council to discuss their new "Product of Cornwall" scheme. It seeks to build and extend the long running "Made in Cornwall" scheme which recognises local Cornish manufacturers.
George recently attended Camborne Show. The show is an opportunity to celebrate Camborne’s rural heritage, and attendance has been very high in recent years.
